The Open Door

When I was a new believer, I tried so hard to hit God’s mark for my life. Yet, even though I sought to depend upon His Spirit, I was more aware of my failure than of His heart.

Now that I’ve got over 35 years of following under my belt, I view spirituality so differently. I envision a loving Father who delights in my discovery of the desires and talents He’s embedded in my genetic code. To develop and share them with others seems a natural expression of my gratitude.

As I age, I also realize that I cannot chase out the darkness in my soul, but I can arise and walk towards the open door.
