I’ve been thinking a lot about my future, lately, and what I want out life and what defines happiness? I live, like many others in Los Angeles, with the pressure to succeed, make money, and have a nice fancy title so that I can go to parties and feel proud when people ask me what I do for a living. I have always been an ambitious person and have grown up my entire life with the mentality that I would do well in my career and achieve more for myself than my parents ever did. The apple does not fall far from the tree–I pray that my young daughter will be blessed with the wisdom of Elya. Denial of self is something that can be preached, but certainly a rarity when lives are examined.
