Create a Top Ten Vision Board

Have you ever felt stuck without vision or direction for your life?

I sure have! Then when I finally started to head in a direction, too many ideas paralyzed me from moving forward in my purposes.

In 2017, a friend, Cheryl Smith, told me about creating a “Top Ten Vision Board.” Cheryl shared Terri Savelle Foy’s book, “Dream It. Pin It. Live It.,” with several of her online friends, and I immediately ordered.

The idea is to create visual representations for your most important goals.

But before you create your vision board, you must process the promises that have been growing in your heart over a lifetime.

Reimagine them as doable if you take simple steps towards them on a regular basis. My Top 10 Vision Board kept me focused on my goals. When opportunities presented, I evaluated them based on my vision board goals.

The vision board helped me to set daily goals as well. During personal journaling time, I’d decide on what to do for the day based on those goals.

When I decided to publish my next manuscript, I joined YPM, Your Platform Matters, to get more specific when it came to building my platform. Ann Kroeker’s writing coach expertise helped me to sort through my vision goals to get more specific.

I created another vision board for my platform as an artist and author:

Some goals have been meet, some exceeded, and some have a long way to go.

Here’s some practical tips and insights to consider when creating a vision board:

Spend time writing about what you envision doing.

Share those musing with a trusted friend to hear yourself present your dreams.

Create visual representations of your top goals with some sub-goals you’d like to try.

Regular re-evaluate your progress so you can readjust your vision board goals.

Lastly, celebrate your successes!
